Editor's Greeting
Celebrating the lifestyle and the game!
Welcome to the Spring/Summer 2008 edition of Rocky Mountain Golf Magazine, a lifestyle publication for the ever-expanding world of golf in the Colorado Rockies and beyond.
We begin this issue with a profile of Colorado-based golf course architect Jim Engh, whose latest creation debuts in Cañon City, Colorado, this summer. The Four Mile Ranch Golf Club’s course already has drawn accolades for its unique and dynamic design, something shared by Engh's award-winning courses around the world. How he achieved this pinnacle of success makes fascinating reading in associate editor Kim McHugh’s “Absolutely Amaz-Engh.”
In “Peaks of Perfection,” we visit the Raven at Three Peaks in Silverthorne, Colorado, which for nearly a decade has been wowing golfers not only with its terrific layout and picture-perfect surroundings, but also with its emphasis on exemplary service that further sets this club apart from the pack. Take a hole-by-hole tour and then sit back and enjoy the Raven’s many amenities.
Heading west, we touch down on the Idaho/Montana border to discover great golf courses and golfing communities on both sides of the state line. Whether it’s the fabled Yellowstone Club in Big Sky Montana or Teton Reserve in Tetonia, Idaho, there are distinctive and exciting courses to satisfy even the most discerning duffers in one of the country’s most beautiful settings.
Now it’s off to “Enchanting Vietnam,” a fast growing golfing mecca that is attracting Americans by the throngs. Surprising to some, Vietnam has a long golfing tradition, one that began with emperors and survived the country’s many past upheavals. Discover old and new as we tour this tranquil and friendly country and learn why Vietnam has become an American golfing destination.
As in every issue of Rocky Mountain Golf Magazine, we have included updated information on recently introduced products that will help your game. We also share useful golfing tips and ways to keep in shape for the optimum game. In “Around the Rockies,” we spotlight remarkable courses and golfing communities, and our information-packed directory offers a myriad of facts about Colorado Rocky Mountain courses.
We at Rocky Mountain Golf Magazine hope you enjoy the Spring/Summer 2008 edition of this publication. As always, we welcome the comments and suggestions of our readers. After all, this is your magazine and we thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Don Berger
